department as one of the first 30 employees at Zaplet Inc. (formerly Firedrop
Inc.), a venture-backed company in the Kleiner-Perkins family of companies. Hired
10 team members and established site operations for a major three-tier,
application-based site running on the Sun/Java/Oracle (Java/J2EE) platform,
which included hosting service for early customers and redundant connectivity
with substantial uptime guarantees. Designed performance suite, provided
specifications to developers, and conducted system performance benchmarking.
Administered a $4 million equipment and salary cost budget.

Ø Launched the $3 million data center,
which encompassed negotiation of software licensing, hosting facilities,
internet connectivity, and hardware contracts / leasebacks.
Ø Performed cost analysis of
deployment for various customer and reference configuration, and participated

POINTCAST, INC. –
Vice President,
Systems Engineering

Internet operations team at PointCast’s Broadcast Facilities, focused on development

and press/analyst presentation roles, and participated in business development
and strategy activities. Managed staff of 75 employees.

Ø Grew user base from zero to more
than 2 million on a weekly basis within first six months, while maintaining

ORACLE CORPORATION –
Vice President,
Internet Products
Promoted to establish group charged with
developing Oracle’s entry into the Web Server/Application server space.

Ø Released first product and first
“free” Oracle product for use by developers integrating Oracle applications
with the World Wide Web (co-inventor, Patent #5,761,673), which led to
establishment of major company-wide initiative to enable domination of Oracle

Orchestrated the
turnaround for a major product group with late-ship issues. Supervised team of
50 in Network Products Division producing Oracle SQL*NET Version 2 + related
